How to use the two files

The layout guide shows the numbered zones and their pixel sizes, so you can match them in your own signage software. The clean background has the same panels with no text, so it is the one to use behind your content. For a single-zone slide, design on the clean background in any image editor and export a JPEG or PNG at the full screen size (1920 x 1080 or 1080 x 1920).

Tips for retail screens

Viewing distance.
Typically, shoppers read window and aisle screens from 6 to 15 feet away. A common rule of thumb is about 1 inch of letter height for every 10 feet, so keep the sale headline short and large.
What goes where.
Put the sale headline and one product photo in the main zone, the deal or coupon in the offer tile, and dates and prices in the narrow strip so you can change them weekly.
Readability.
Use dark text on a light panel or white text on a solid dark color. Busy photos behind small text are the usual reason a retail screen goes unread.
Safe area.
Keep text about 5 percent in from every edge. Some TVs crop the picture a little and bezels hide the rest.
