How to use the two files

The layout guide shows the numbered zones and their pixel sizes, so you can match them in your own signage software. The clean background has the same panels with no text, so it is the one to use behind your content. For a single-zone slide, design on the clean background in any image editor and export a JPEG or PNG at the full screen size (1920 x 1080 or 1080 x 1920).

Tips for healthcare screens

Viewing distance.
Typically, patients sit 8 to 25 feet from a waiting room screen. Use large type, short lines and calm motion, since people are often tired or anxious.
What goes where.
Use the main zone for patient education video, the side zone for queue or now-serving text, and the ticker for hours, reminders and billing notices.
Privacy.
Use ticket numbers on a queue panel rather than names, and follow your practice's privacy policy for anything shown in public.
Sound and motion.
Most waiting rooms run muted, so use captions on video. Slow transitions and plain backgrounds keep the room relaxed.
