A digital sign that runs from a folder you already have
Adaptive Solo turns one Windows or Ubuntu PC into a digital sign. Point it at a Google Drive or pCloud folder you already use, and it shows those images full screen, in order, all day. Change an image in the folder and the sign changes on its own. No media server, no monthly platform fee, no account with us.
Free 7-day trial. No account or credit card needed.

Adaptive Solo is a new beta product. The installer is self-signed by Adaptive IP Services, so Windows may show an unknown-publisher warning the first time you run it. This is expected for an early build and not a sign of a problem.
Adaptive Solo for Linux is newer than the Windows build and hasn't been tested on a physical machine outside our own development environment yet -- it passes the same full internal test suite, but if you're among the first to run it on real hardware, you're an early adopter. It's built for Ubuntu Desktop (64-bit) specifically; other distributions aren't supported yet. Install it on a dedicated machine set up just for this sign, not your everyday computer: Setup needs to run with sudo, and it installs greetd to manage your sign's login screen, which changes how that machine boots into a desktop.
How it works
You already keep images somewhere. Adaptive Solo reads them straight out of that folder. Set the folder to anyone with the link, paste the link into the setup wizard once, and the player takes it from there. It does not ask you to sign in to Google or pCloud, it does not hold a password for your account, and there is no Adaptive account to create either.
The player checks the folder about every 60 seconds. A new image appears in the rotation, a replaced image updates, and a deleted image drops out. That is the whole content workflow: drag a JPEG or PNG into the folder from any device that can reach it.
While your folder is still empty
A fresh install is not a black screen. Adaptive Solo ships with built-in scenery that plays until your folder has images in it, so the screen looks finished from the first minute.
The weather slide is optional
Turn it on and the player adds a seven-day forecast slide to the rotation, drawn from National Weather Service data. There is no signup and no weather API key to buy. Turn it off and you get images only.
From download to on-screen
Install it
Download the setup file and run it on the Windows or Ubuntu PC connected to your screen.
Paste one folder link
A Google Drive or pCloud folder you already have, shared as anyone with the link. You never sign in to a cloud account.
Leave it running
Your images play full screen and the player picks up anything you add, change, or remove in that folder.

How buying and activation work
Install the player and use it free for 7 days. There is nothing to sign up for and no card to enter. When you decide to keep it, buy the license and the player shows you a short request code. Email that code to support@adaptiveips.com along with the email address and order number from your purchase, and a license file comes back to you by email. Drop the file into the same shared folder your images live in and the player picks it up on its own.

Frequently asked questions
Do I have to give you access to my Google Drive or pCloud account?
No. The player reads a folder you have shared as anyone with the link. It never signs in to your cloud account, never stores a password for it, and there is no Adaptive account involved. If you later stop sharing the folder, the player simply stops seeing new images.
What happens when the 7-day trial ends?
The trial runs for 7 days from setup and needs no account or credit card. If you buy the license, the player keeps running as it was. If you do not, it stops playing your images, and nothing is charged because you never entered payment details.
What does the 19.99 dollars cover, and what is Maintenance?
The 19.99 dollar purchase is one license for one player on one Windows or Ubuntu PC, and it is perpetual for the major version you bought. It includes email support for the first 30 days, plus one year of Maintenance at no extra charge, covering both updates and email support for that year. After the first year, renewing Maintenance is 9.99 dollars per year. Maintenance is optional and is not automatic: nothing renews by itself, and you buy another year only when you want one. We send one reminder about 30 days before it lapses and we do not send it again. Either way, your player keeps working on the version it has.
Can I run it on more than one screen?
One license covers one player, meaning one Windows or Ubuntu PC. A second screen needs a second license at the same 19.99 dollars. Several players can read the same shared folder, so a second sign does not mean a second content workflow.
Why does Windows warn me about an unknown publisher, and what does beta mean?
Adaptive Solo is brand new and currently in beta. The installer is self-signed by Adaptive IP Services rather than signed through a paid certificate authority, so Windows SmartScreen may show an unknown-publisher warning the first time you run it. This is expected for an early build from a small vendor and is not a sign of a problem. While Adaptive Solo is in beta, meaning up to 90 days from your purchase or until the official 1.0 release goes public, whichever comes first, every version update is included at no charge, even ahead of buying Maintenance.
Is the Linux version as ready as the Windows version?
Not quite yet. It's built the same way and passes the same automated tests, but it hasn't been run on a physical Linux machine outside our own testing yet, so you'd be among the first. It only supports Ubuntu Desktop right now, and installing it changes how the machine's login screen works, so we'd only recommend it on a machine you're setting up specifically as a sign. The free 7-day trial applies the same way, so you can see it running on your own hardware before you decide.
One PC, one screen, $19.99.
Install it, point it at a folder, and see it running on your own screen before you pay anything.
